Step 1:


Let's start out by creating a new file. I used a 600?00 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with white color. Now make a new layer set and call it 'HTC Touch Pro'.


Select the Rounded Rectangle Tool then above your screen under the options palette choose Fill Pixels, set the radius to 20 px and check anti-aliased. Now create a new layer then draw a large black rounded rectangle with 265?23 px dimensions.



Step 2:


Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your black rounded rectangle layer.

Step 3:


In a new layer draw a large white rounded rectangle with 256?95 px dimensions on the same position as shown below.



Step 4:


Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your large white rounded rectangle layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Darken.

Step 5:


Create a new layer then draw a large black rectangle with 219?27 px dimensions on the top side of the device, this will be the screen. Now draw a smaller black rectangle with 219?2 px dimensions on top of the screen. Then below the screen draw another black rectangle with 219?2 px dimensions and set the layer's opacity level to 69%.



Step 6:


Create a new layer then draw a small black rounded rectangle with 78? px dimensions on the top end of the device.



Step 7:


Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay, Pattern Overlay and Stroke blending options to the small black rounded rectangle layer.

Step 8:


In a new layer make a small gray rounded rectangle with #717171 color shade inside the rounded rectangle design from the last step. Then cut the right side of your gray rounded rectangle.


Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your small gray rounded rectangle layer.

Step 9:


Select the Horizontal Type Tool and set the font family to Arial, regular, 13 pt, smooth and white color shade. In a new text layer type 'All People' and 'Menu' on the bottom end of the screen design. Now add the htc logo below the screen, download the psd file here.



Step 10:


In a new layer draw 2 thick black lines on the outside of the device as shown below.



Step 11:


Create a new layer, below the htc logo draw a 2 px black line across the device. Then below the black line draw a 1 px white line. Now set the layer's opacity level to 70%.



Step 12:


In a new layer draw a black circle with 75 x 75 px dimensions.



Step 13:


Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your black circle layer.

Step 14:


In a new layer draw a white circle with 44 x 44 px dimensions inside the black circle design. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Outer Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your white circle layer. Now set the layer's blending mode to Darken.

Step 15:


Now add the icon designs for the buttons, grab the psd file here.

Beautiful looking result, but have to agree with above with regard to the clarity of the tut.

It was a good tutorial. The .psd files help a lot. However there were certain instances when I could not follow the instructions as they were not clear (did not clarify the said point). The tutorial gets obscure towards the end when it mentions the icons design for the buttons or at step 15. Clarifying those will help a great deal.
